Granite Park Celebrations
Our school recently had two of our amazing teachers notified they were the recipients of the following awards:
- Jaynell Hollins – The Mayors Equity Award of the Year awarded by the city of South Salt Lake
- Kristina Hight – Thank You Thursday Award from the Granite Education Foundation
Report Card Information
Third Quarter Report Cards were sent home with students on Friday, March 22nd. Please ask your student for a copy of their report card. You can also access report cards on the parent portal.
Important Dates
- Spring Break will be on March 30th – April 7th. School will resume on Monday, April 8th.
- No school – April 29th
- Last Day of school is May 24th (I know its early, but helps with summer planning)
RISE Schedule and Information
| Each spring, all students in grades 3-8 in the state of Utah take the state RISE assessment. We will be administering this assessment at Granite Park using the schedule provided below: Subject | Dates |
| Science | 4/15 – 4/19 (HN starts 10th and 11th) |
| ELA | 4/22 – 2/26 |
| Math | 4/30 – 5/3 & 5/6 (no school on 4/29) |
| 8th grade writing/make-ups | 5/7 – 5/10 |
To help you student do their best on this assessment, please have your students et plenty of rest the night before the assessment, eat healthy meals especially breakfast the day of the assessment and encourage your students to come to school every day.
Our goal is to assess at least 95% of our students. Attendance is vital during this time of the year. Students will receive a RISE Raffle Ticket every day they attend during the assessment window. Students can win prizes just for attending school!
March Parent University
Parent University for the month of March will be on March 28th at 6:00 pm in our library. We will be reviewing the RISE assessment and discuss what the assessment is and what is measures. We will also be discussion how parents can help their students do their best on this assessment.
