Granite Park Community, we had a great first week of school and have been really impressed with the engagement and attentiveness our students have demonstrated this week. Here are some topics to review as we get started with the school year:
Grizz Time
We are excited to announce that starting next week we will be implementing a weekly intervention and extension program designed to help ensure our students are receiving needed supports relating to Math, English and Science.
Each Tuesday, we will follow a Grizz Time schedule where students will either meet with a core teacher to get extra supports in Math, English or Science. Students that do not need extra supports relating to these subjects will attend and extension activity that will focus on literacy, numeracy or relational capacity development.
This is a great way to help all our students work towards grade level proficiency.
Bus and Transportation Information
We are in the process of working with the district to get all our students ID badges. One side of the ID badge will serve as your student’s school ID card and the other side will be a bus pass for those students that qualify for busing this year.
We hope to have these printed and handed by Friday the 16th but may need a little more time if we run into obstacles. If this does happen, we will work with the district to ensure students can access the bus with a badge until we have this situation resolved. Either way, we will keep everyone updated as we get new information.
