Parent Teacher Conferences
We are excited to be hosting our fall PTC on September 17th and 18th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, both
nights. Conferences will be in person and students will take an active role in explaining their
academic progress.
Students that come with their parents will be entered into a drawing for a BIG PRIZE and community
resources will also be made available for families.

School Pictures
Our school will have picture day on September 18th. Students will be given a picture packet to take
home on Monday September 16th to help parents order student pictures. Parents you can also order
pictures by visiting bellphoto.com and using the code: granitepark24.
Granite Park Parent University
Last year at Granite Park we started a program called Parent University which is designed to help us
build the capacity of parents to help their students be more successful at school. We also want to
create the opportunity for parents to voice their concerns and discuss school related topic with the
hope of improving our school and meeting the needs of all students.
Our first Parent University will be held on September 26th from 6:30 pm -7:30 pm. Come join us and
enjoy some light refreshments and a prize drawing.

Community Resources
Granite Park and the United Way work closely to try and ensure our students and their families have
access to needed resources to ensure students can focus on their academic progress. Below is a link
of resources found in our community that include resources for items like free transportation, access
to food, and many other forms of assistance.

Free and Reduce School Meal Application
Even though Granite Park provides all students with free breakfast and lunch each day. We are
asking that families take a moment to complete the Free and Reduced School Meal application to
help ensure we continue to be awarded this grant.
Student Immunization
All 7th grade students at Granite Park must have proof of immunizations by September 14th or they
will not be allowed to attend school until proof of immunizations, or an exemption is provided. We
currently have 182 students that this will affect. Please have your students bring the required
documentation to the school so they are not sent home.
Title 1 Stakeholder Survey
Granite Park is a Title 1 school which means that our school receives extra funding to help reduce the
achievement gap that exists in our school. The funds we used are directly relating to meeting the
needs of all students. We are asking that all stakeholders, complete the attached Title 1 stakeholder
survey; this will help identify areas of success and needed improvement.

Important Dates to Remember
- We will have a teacher comp day on September 20th and there will not be any school.
- The end of our 1st quarter will be October 9th.
- Fall Break will be October 10th – October 14th. Our 2nd quarter will begin on October 15th.
