Dear Parents and Students,
OPEN ENROLLMENT
The Open Enrollment window is open from Nov. 15 till Feb. 2 @ 3pm. The process for this is on-line. The link to Open Enrollment form: https://www.graniteschools.org/psp/open-enrollment/
Please let your friends and neighbors know as this date has changed and we would love to have more of your friends and neighbors come to our school next year. Remember that if you have an 8th grade student on an open enrollment permit, you will need to apply again for Olympus High School. We will start notifying of acceptance into Olympus Jr. on Dec. 15th.
DONATE TO OLYMPUS JR. SCHOOL PBIS STORE
At Olympus, as part of our positive behavior support program we have a “School Store”. Students receive “Bulldog Bucks” currency for positive behaviors and are able to use it at the store. If you would like to donate, we have a donation list at Amazon.com. THANK YOU for all those who have already donated. Here is the link if you would like to participate: https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/29ZD6EBRT85O0
PTA
We are starting a new student PTSA club! We meet the second Monday of the month during lunch (our first meeting is Dec 11). We will have free pizza and talk about inclusion, advocacy, and leadership, culminating in a field trip to the Utah State Capitol to lobby our elected representatives on February 13th. Please encourage your student to join us on the third floor during lunch on December 11thand January 8th. We would like all students who join this club to pay $7 for a PTSA membership. All other costs will be covered by our PTSA and in partnership with our community partner, Sammy’s Buddy Program.
We are celebrating all our Reflections participants at a root beer float party on Dec 6th during lunch in the third floor conference room. Please encourage your student to attend. We will award prizes to all participants and announce our winners next week! We have a lot of talent at our school!
Thank you to our platinum PTSA sponsors! And to all who helped us reach our fundraising goal!

SCHOOL MUSICAL TRYOUTS
This year the Bulldog Theatre Company at Olympus Jr. High will be presenting Matilda.
We are excited to get started and want everyone to get involved. Auditions are getting close, and students need to prepare properly.
HERE is WHAT you DO:
–Decide what part you would like to audition to be.
–Sign up for an audition time in Rm. 111 before or after school.
–Pick up a side (acting lines) and music to practice. You need not memorize.
–Pick up an AUDITION FORM to complete and bring to your audition. This must have a parent’s signature to audition.
–You are welcome to submit a headshot and resume, but it is not necessary to audition.
–AUDITIONS are held afterschool on DECEMBER 7th – We will have overflow auditions on Friday, 8th only if necessary.
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Totland via email cztotland@granitschools.org.
FUNDRAISER
We are beginning our Holiday Fundraiser to collect money donations for struggling families in our community. Students are encouraged to bring money to donate during their advisory class and at lunch time. We have a competition going between advisory classes with the top 3 classes with the most donations will be rewarded with accolades and rewards. Also, there will be school wide incentives too. There will be a link in the webstore to donate on-line. When that is up and running, the link will be sent out. Thank you in advance for your support for those in need in our community.
COUNSELING CENTER
Please check out the attached Counseling Centers Newsletter. There is a lot of great school wide information contained therein.
