Administration

Michael Douglas earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Utah and later earned a master’s degree in educational administration and supervision. Mr. Douglas has been an educator since 2005. He began his career as a social studies teacher at Cyprus High School, where he taught for seven years before entering school administration. Throughout his career, Mr. Douglas has served as an assistant principal, elementary school principal, high school principal, district principal supervisor, director of student assessment, and junior high school principal. Before coming to Olympus Junior High, he served as interim principal of Bonneville Junior High School. Mr. Douglas is passionate about building positive school cultures where students feel safe, connected, supported, and challenged to achieve at high levels. He works hard to ensure that decisions are based on what is best for students. He believes school leaders and educators should follow the guiding principle: “The Student First and Always.” He is married to his wife, Lindsay, and they have three children. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, working on home and vehicle projects, music, and supporting student activities and athletics. Mr. Douglas is honored and excited to serve as the principal of Olympus Junior High School and looks forward to working with students, families, teachers, staff, and community members to make Olympus one of the best schools in America.
