Dear Parents and Students,
Sorry this email is late. I had some major computer issues on Thursday and Friday so here it is for this week. Remember, there is no school on April 29. This Friday we will be rewarding the 6th grade class for their success in winning Spirit Week with pizza. Congratulations, it is well earned.
YEAR END–RISE TESTING
The year-end state RISE assessments will be administered on May 1, 7, 9. The whole school will be assessed all at one time from 8-11am with a snack break. By having all our students test, we will have a better understanding of how we need to adjust instruction and intervention for students next school year. We use the data from these state assessments to make goals and determine funding in the school. Your student’s best participation and effort is greatly appreciated. If at all possible please try and schedule doctor and dentist appointments on different days. If you have not done so, please read the attached letter from the School Community Council regarding RISE testing.
TRACK & FIELD
The Track & Field sports season will began on April 8, but we are still letting student join the team. This sport is for boys and girls in grades 6-8. Events include: sprints and distance races, Relay races, high jump, long jump, shot put and javelin.
PTSA
We are currently looking for donations for Teacher Appreciation week May 6-10 and our 8th grade party the last week of school. Please reach out to Barb Thornton 801-560-8327 if your business or family would like to co-sponsor either one of these events!
Thanks for all you do to support our school!
