August 6, 2026Principal's Message

Dear Olympus Junior High Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to welcome our students and families back to Olympus Junior High for the 2026–2027 school year! Please review the following important registration and back-to-school information.

Walk-Through Day
Our annual Walk-Through will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

During the Walk-Through, students will have an opportunity to become familiar with the school, locate their classrooms, and practice opening their lockers. Please be aware that locker assignments may be distributed a little later than usual this year as we work to correct an issue with the locker combination spreadsheet. We appreciate your patience as we complete this process along with the many other preparations needed before students arrive.

Online Registration
Parents must complete yearly registration and required permission forms for their returning and new-to-Olympus Junior High students through the Granite School District Focus website.

On July 31, 2026, and once registration and permission forms have been completed, students and parents will be able to view class schedules.

Yearbooks
Yearbooks can and should be purchased during registration to help ensure timely delivery in the spring of 2027.

Schedule Changes
The time before school begins must be reserved for students who have a necessary class change. Please email your student’s counselor with the requested change and the reason the change is needed. We will do everything we reasonably can to accommodate student needs.

Counselor email addresses:

Ckendall@graniteschools.org – last names beginning with A through L
sjblodgett@graniteschools.org– last names beginning with M through Z

First Day of School
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

All sixth-grade students and 7th- and 8th-grade students who have not already attended Olympus Jr. will begin school at the regular time. The first bell rings at 7:40 a.m. These students will receive an orientation to our school, including a tour and a pancake breakfast led by teachers and student body officers.

Returning 7th and 8th grade students will begin classes at 9:30 a.m. on the first day of school.

Online School Spirit Store
The Olympus Junior High online school spirit store will be open from September 14 through September 28, 2026. This will be the only opportunity during the school year to purchase these specific spirit clothing items, so please plan accordingly.

New Community Partnership with kiln.
We are excited to introduce kiln. as a new Olympus Junior High community partner. kiln. will be hosting an event next month for interested eighth-grade students. Please review the attached flyer for additional information about this opportunity and how your student can participate.

Thank you for completing registration promptly and helping us prepare for a successful school year. We look forward to seeing our students and families at Walk-Through!

Go Bulldogs!

Sincerely,

Mike Douglas
