Dear Olympus Junior High Families,
The first day of school is only four days away! We are excited to welcome our students to Olympus Junior High on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
Sixth Grade and New Student Orientation
All sixth-grade students, along with seventh- and eighth-grade students who are new to Olympus Junior High, should arrive by 7:45 a.m. and report to the Olympus Junior High auditorium.
Students should find their first-period teacher in the auditorium. Don’t worry, our teachers will be holding signs with their names, making them easy to find.
Students will participate in an orientation and school tour which includes a delicious full breakfast cooked by your administration and school resource officer. This will help them become familiar with the building, meet their teachers and classmates, and feel prepared for a successful first day.
Returning Seventh- and Eighth-Grade Students
All returning seventh- and eighth-grade students should arrive by 9:30 a.m. on August 12, 2026, and report directly to their first-period classes.
Complete Registration in Focus
Please log in to Focus Parent Portal, our district’s student information platform, to complete your student’s registration. Parents and guardians must also review and sign several important documents each school year.
Completing these steps before the first day will help ensure that your student is fully registered and ready to begin school.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Please see the linked image for detailed information about the best ways to drop off and pick up students. (PDF) After listening to parents and community members, this process has changed from previous years. You can still drive down the road just East of our building, park, and drop off students there, but it will increase safety and decrease congestion, and let’s face it, frustration if we can keep the cars off of that road during peak drop-off and pick-up times. On that note, if you arrive a few minutes before school starts at 7:30 AM, there is almost no traffic. Same goes for after school. Let’s keep our young Bulldogs safe!
We strongly encourage students who live nearby to walk to school together in groups. Our goal is for the road directly east of our building to remain as pedestrian-friendly as possible. We encourage parents dropping off students to use the roads west of the building and north of our campus whenever possible. Please review the attached map for additional guidance.

Student Picture Days
Student Picture Day will be Thursday, August 20, 2026. Makeup Picture Day will be Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Olympus Junior High uses Lifetouch Photography, and families will have the opportunity to purchase picture packages directly through Lifetouch. These photographs will also be used in the school yearbook and in our student information system so teachers and staff can more easily identify and support students.
We are looking forward to an outstanding school year and cannot wait to welcome our Bulldogs back to Olympus Junior High!
The Student First and Always.
Go Bulldogs!
Sincerely,
Mike Douglas
