Oly Junior Principal Podcast – August 14, 2026.mp3

Dear Olympus Junior High Families,

We did it! We finished our first week of school! It has been the best week of my career! We have the best students and staff here at Olympus Junior. Thank you for sending such wonderful students to our school. We LOVE them!

To that end, it has been so much fun to welcome our students back and see our hallways filled with life, smiles, and that special energy that can only come from a junior high filled with more than 800 sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade students!

Our students also enjoyed a couple of special treats this week. Student Government welcomed students with donuts, and our wonderful PTA provided popsicles. We are grateful for the many people who work to make Olympus Junior High a place where students feel welcomed, connected, and excited to be here.

As we head into our first full week of school, here are a few things students and families should know:

Class Officer Elections

  • Monday, August 17: Class Officer Election packets will be available in the Main Office.
  • Wednesday, August 19: Class Officer applications are due in the Main Office by 3:45 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 25: Primary elections will take place during Advisory.
  • Wednesday, August 26: General elections will take place during Advisory.

We encourage students who are interested in leadership and serving their classmates to consider running!

Student Picture Day – Thursday, August 20
Student Picture Day will be held in the auditorium from 7:30–11:00 a.m. Students will be called down for pictures during the school day.

Ambassador Applications
Applications for students interested in becoming an Olympus Junior High Ambassador will be available beginning Monday, August 24, and are due Friday, August 28. Ambassador interviews will take place during Advisory on September 9.

Hello Day – Thursday, August 27
We will hold our Hello Day assemblies on Thursday, August 27. Hello Day is another opportunity to strengthen connections among students and continue building a welcoming school community.

Thank you for helping us get the school year off to such a positive start. We have loved having our Bulldogs back in the building, and we are excited about the year ahead!

Have a wonderful weekend!
