Dear Olympus Junior High Families,
Happy Halloween, Bulldogs!
What a fantastic week at Olympus Junior High! As we wrap up October and head into November, I want to share a few celebrations, reminders, and upcoming events.
Halloween Stomp – A Smashing Success!
Today’s Halloween Stomp was a smashing success! Our students and staff had an incredible time celebrating together. A HUGE thank-you to our wonderful PTA for organizing such a fun event, complete with an MC, games, donuts, balloons, candy, a photo booth, and a raffle! The energy and excitement were contagious, and our students and staff absolutely loved it!
We also want to recognize our PTA for celebrating our October student birthdays with Domino’s Pizza. These thoughtful gestures help make Olympus Junior High a special place where students feel connected, valued, and celebrated. We are grateful for our PTA and the time, energy, and resources they invest in our school!
Squishy Toys – No Longer Permitted at School
Parents, we need your help with a growing issue involving squishy toys. While these toys may seem harmless, we have experienced numerous situations where they have broken open, spilling their contents onto floors, furniture, and other surfaces. The resulting messes are extremely difficult to clean up, and the material has even clogged sinks in our building. These toys have also become a significant distraction from teaching and learning. Effective immediately, squishy toys are no longer permitted at Olympus Junior High. Students who bring them to school may have them confiscated. Please help us by reminding your students to leave these items at home. Thank you for supporting a clean, safe, and focused learning environment!
Daylight Saving Time – Fall Back!
Don’t forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 1! Remember to set your clocks BACK one hour Saturday night before heading to bed. Enjoy that extra hour of sleep!

Parent Vaping Prevention Presentation – November 10
Our friends at Morningside Elementary are hosting an important vaping prevention presentation for parents, presented by the Salt Lake County Health Department, on Tuesday, November 10, at the Morningside Elementary Family Center.
This presentation is open to parents, guardians, and adults who work with youth. With vaping continuing to be a concern among school-aged children, this is a valuable opportunity to learn more about prevention and how we can support our students in making healthy choices. Please see the accompanying flyer for additional information.
Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!
As our students head out to enjoy Halloween festivities, I encourage everyone to celebrate responsibly, watch for traffic, look out for one another, and make safe choices. We want all our Bulldogs back at school on Monday, happy, healthy, and ready to learn!
Thank you for your continued partnership and for everything you do to support our students, teachers, and school community.
It’s a great day to be a Bulldog!
