8th Grade Parents

The Wasatch counselors are required by the state to get together with each 8th grade student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) for a College and Career Planning Meeting.  This meeting is a time to celebrate your student, discuss their strengths and interests, and give them some guidance as they prepare to select their classes for their freshman year of high school.

The students will have an assignment for their CCA class to watch a short series of videos prepared by the counseling center to lay the groundwork for the meeting.  It is crucial that they watch these videos with the parent or guardian who will be attending the meeting with them.  After watching the videos, there is a short google form to fill out and then you can schedule a meeting with your student’s counselor.  Please take the time to watch the short series of videos and schedule an appointment with your school counselor by September 30th. There are a limited number of CCR appointments during Parent/Teacher Conference for those who prefer evening times.
