October 21, 2024Principal Message, School News

Greetings Wasatch Families,

This week at Wasatch –October 21

School Information:

Student Safety before and after school

Parents we need your help! Student safety is of the utmost importance to us. With the inclement weather upon us, if roads are slick and a student runs in front of a car, that car may not be able to stop and we may have a serious injury. Students are still running across the street in front of oncoming traffic right in front of the school. Parents here are some options:

  1. Park on the north or south side of the building and have your students walk to your car. This allows all students to get to your car without crossing any street. Promote healthy lifestyle – get your steps in. Make sure you send them with a collapsable umbrella for inclement weather
  2. Park around the cross walk area on 3100 East and Upland Drive. Students then can use the flags to walk to your cars and cross in the cross walk.
  3. Pick up and drop off in the back of the school.

Also, please make note that the bus lane is for busses only. While the busses run from 7:00 – 7:45 and pick up between 2:30 -3:00, the bus lane is still used for an elementary school pickup after these times. When you park in the bus lane, even if just for a few minutes (even if you park at the end of the bus lane), it does impact bussing for our elementary run.

One more friendly reminder, please drive safely around our school. Please remember to not pass busses that are stopped and picking up students if the bus STOP sign is out.  Please watch carefully for our student pedestrians.
