I was born and raised in Logan, Utah. I am the youngest of 3 children. I am a third-generation educator as my grandparents, parents, and now myself have served in education. My grandfather became an elementary school teacher and later a principal following his service in World War II. My wife and I have 2 wonderful children, Jason (entering 1st grade) and Olivia (entering pre-school).
I began serving in the Granite School District in 2010 at Bonneville Junior High where I taught Spanish, Social Studies, and ESL. I loved being a Viking! I have served as a school administrator at both Matheson Junior High and most recently Hunter High School.
I am a proud Utah State Aggie and all around sports fan! I enjoy watching movies, college football, YouTube videos, learning about historical events, and doing yard work. If I could be anyone in life, I would choose to be Captain America.
Something that not many people know about me is that while growing up, I struggled with reading a lot. I couldn’t say the big words or remember what I read. Most my friends were advanced readers and I became shy to read in front of others. Over time, with some practice and the support of loving individuals, I have come to love reading. I look forward to discussing books with the Oakwood students.
