Serving the Oakwood Community since 2023Bachelor’s in Social Science and a teaching certificate from Westminster College and a Masters of Elementary Reading from Grand Canyon UniversityI have been teaching in Granite School District for 25 years and have had the opportunity to teach students in kindergarten through second grade. Before becoming a teacher, I worked for Questar Natural Gas Corporation for 13 years, where I resolved escalated customer concerns with the Public Service Commission. While I enjoyed my work, I felt called to a career focused on children and learning. Teaching runs in my family—my great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother were all teachers—and I am proud to continue that tradition.
I live in Murray with my daughter, Ondrea, along with our dog, Carl, and cat, Marie. Outside of school, I enjoy staying active by walking, lifting weights in my home gym, biking, and attending Zumba classes. I am passionate about animals and love traveling to observe wildlife in nature and visit zoos. I also enjoy reading about animal rescue and conservation, gardening, playing the piano, and following University of Utah gymnastics as a season ticket holder.
I am involved in a women's political club in Salt Lake and enjoy supporting local community initiatives and campaigns. I also love baking gluten-free, FODMAP-friendly, and non-dairy treats, creating many of my meals and snacks from scratch.
My favorite thing about Oakwood is the people. The wonderful families, students, and coworkers make Oakwood a welcoming and supportive place to learn and work.

I am so grateful to be part of the Oakwood community! Since 2022, I have worked as a Special Education Resource teacher, and I love supporting students as they learn, grow, and achieve their goals.
When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and my puppy, traveling with my husband, and taking Pilates classes. Whether I’m exploring a new destination or enjoying a quiet day at home, I value the time I spend with the people I love most.
My favorite thing about Oakwood is the welcoming staff, students, and families. The strong sense of community and support makes Oakwood a wonderful place to work, and I am proud to be an Owl!
