Reflections… the short version

Enter in this years PTA sponsored Reflections Contest.

2D Visual Arts

• Artwork CANNOT be larger than 24 x 30”
• Artwork can be made using crayons, pencils, markers, paint, etc. Collages are also acceptable. Framed entries and shadow boxes are not allowed.
• PLEASE label the back of your artwork with student’s first and last name.
• Take a photo of your entry and submit your entry online in a JPG format AND turn in to your school.

3D Visual Arts

• Anything goes! The only things you can’t submit are models from a kit, graphic novels, comic books, and shadow boxes.
• Please submit 3-6 photos of your entry online.
• You may be asked to display your project, so please hang on to it.
• Suggestions: Lego projects (you might want to glue this one together!), Play-doh projects, jewelry, macaroni art, blankets, or anything else

Dance (Choreography)

• You must create the dance (you can’t use one you learned in dance class!).
• Your dance must not be longer than 5 minutes.
• Your dance MUST be an MP4 format
• You may have as many people as you like in your dance. However, only you may submit the entry.
• Submit your entry online.

Film

• Film entries are like movies. You must create and film the movie yourself (in other words – you CANNOT use a family video, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Your movie must not be longer than 5 minutes.
• Your film MUST be an MP4 format
• You may have other people in your film. However, only you may submit the entry.
• Submit your entry online.

Literature

• Any “written” work: poem, story, etc. You CAN make it look like a book and add illustrations if you would like. However, you may NOT submit comic books or frame your poems/stories.
• No more than 2,000 words in length.
• Can be handwritten and scanned in or typed and submitted as a PDF.
• Submit your entry online.

Musical Composition

• You must compose the song (you can’t use one you learned at piano lessons!).
• Your song must not be longer than 5 minutes.
• Your song MUST be a MP3, M4A, or WAV
• You may have someone else perform your song.
• You only need to include a score if you are 6th-12th grade.
• Can be handwritten and scanned in or typed and submitted as a PDF.
• Submit your entry online.

Photography

• Photographs have to be taken by YOU (the student) and cannot be smaller than 3×5 or bigger than 11 x 14.
• You may submit a single photo, panoramic, photomontage, a multiple exposure, negative sandwich or photogram.
• PLEASE put your picture on a piece of cardstock or other poster board no bigger than 11×14 inches. Please DO NOT turn in a photo album or framed art.
• PLEASE label the back of your picture with student’s first and last name
• Submit your entry online in a JPG format AND turn in to your school.
