Mr Allen is in his 10th year of teaching, but is new to Granger High School. Mr Allen loves to teach social studies classes and is looking forward to working with teens to help them better understand the world they live in. Mr Allen has lots of interests such as sports, music and gaming. Mr Allen earned his bachelors at Weber State University in Geography and has a masters in secondary education. Mr Allen is excited to be a Lancer teacher!

Mr. Ballew is Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified, Hunter Equipment Certified, has a BSHS from University of Phoenix 2005 and a Masters in Education Special Education University of Phoenix 2007. Mr. Ballew has been teaching since 1997 and here at Granger since 2012. He is a gearhead like no other. If you cut his arm, he said he will bleed grease and oil. Mr. Ballew loves working on cars and with teens showing them the wonders found in today’s technological marvels. Mr. Ballew has been married since 1992 to a wonderful woman and his best friend. They have four children, married, with seven grandchildren. When Mr. Ballew isn’t here at Granger you can find him in Moab 4 wheelin or at an NHRA drag race having more fun than you could imagine.

Mrs. Beck teaches Special Education Math and Directed Studies. She has taught at Granger for 25 years. She loves having former students come to visit. Most will tell her that they wished they had applied themselves and studied harder in school because life after high school is a lot harder. She has been married for 41 years. She has 4 children and 12 grandchildren. She earned a BS from BYU in Sociology, a Special Education Certificate form Utah State, an ESL endorsement from Weber State and a Masters of Education from Lesley University. She has also taken classes from SLCC and University of Phoenix. She wishes she could speak Spanish.

Mr. Bernard has worked in education for 16 years. In California, he worked as a bilingual aide for 5 years, taught for 9 years and was a Vice Principal for 2 years. He earned an Associates Degree in Biological Sciences (Antelope Valley College, Lancaster, CA), Bachelors Degree in Psychology (CSU- Bakersfield, Bakersfield, CA) and a Master Degree in Educational Administration (CSU- Dominguez Hills, Carson, Ca). Mr. Bernard moved to Utah in the Summer of 2018 with his wife and 5 children He currently teaches School Success, Construction Youth Mentorship Connection (CYMC), and works with seniors towards graduation as a Senior Advocate. He enjoys helping students get back on track to graduate and gain skills that improve their lives!

He joined the Granger Faculty in 2013, after teaching for four years at West Lake Junior and two years at Brockbank Junior. This is Mrs. Brown's 3rd year teaching at Granger High School. She graduated from UVU with her bachelors in English Education. She grew up outside of Dallas, Texas, and cannot tell you how excited she is to go to ALL of Granger's football games. Mrs. Brown loves spending time with friends and family (who doesn't?), shopping, reading and writing (obviously), art, interior design, baking, throwing tea parties, and just making the world around her more beautiful.  Ninth grade year is going to be delightful. She cannot wait to help all of her students get to be even better readers and writers than they were before. Cheers to the Class of 2021!  Mrs. Brown is also the new SBO advisor and in charge of Lancer Legislature.  If you are interested in being a class officer you can apply to run for office in the spring. If you wish to be a part of Lancer Legislature you can join at any time. Lancer Legislature meets every Tuesday at 2:20 pm in Mrs. Brown’s room, H206.

Mr. Carlisle teaches journalism, yearbook, and photography in J-102. His teaching endorsements/qualifications include: English, economics, visual arts: photography and CTE: commercial photography. In addition, he is a JEA-certified journalism educator, a UBI-certified bike mechanic, and a ULC-certified wedding officiant. In his spare time, he sews for his secret brand, Blacktag Bags, and he also serves as the chair of the board of directors for Craft Lake City, a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans. In addition, he shoots for SLUG Magazine almost every month, and his photos are attributed to his T9 pseudonym.

Mr. Castro, a Chilean Citizen, taught at Granite high for multiple years and was also a teacher and principal in Chile. He has now been a part of the faculty at Granger since 2006. He received his Bachelor Degree at La Universidad de Santiago de Chile in 1972 and received his Masters degree at Lesley University in 2010. Mr. Castro was teaching math in the Special Ed. Department and is now teaching Spanish full time this new school year here at Granger. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family doing different outdoor activities. These include fly fishing, camping and photography.

She has been teaching at Granger since 2003. She teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced graphics. She loves teaching the design process and seeing how students learn and create their own work. Out of the classroom, she loves sunshine, reading, computer arts and spending time with her husband and four kids.

Ms. Cluny has a BA in History, a Masters in Educational in Administration, and a Masters of Architecture all from the University of Utah. She worked as an intern architect at the architecture firm that designed Granger High School as one of their drafters. Ms. Cluny taught at Taylorsville High School and worked in Granite School District as the Social Studies Specialist. She returned to teaching, in 2013 to teach her favorite subject, American History. She loves the 11th grade students and curriculum. When Ms. Cluny has free time, she enjoys traveling the world.

Ms. Cohorn is excited to be teaching at Granger High School.  She grew up in southern Arizona and earned Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University's School of Accountancy.  She worked in public accounting and industry for several years prior to becoming a teacher.  She taught math at Corona del Sol High School in Arizona and CTE Introduction (College and Career Awareness) at Ecker Hill Middle School in Park City School District.  She has a Master of Education from Westminster College, National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education and an ESL Endorsement.  She and her husband Michael enjoy hiking, sailing in the Great Salt Lake and taking long walks with their dog, Loki.

Mr. Coon grew up in West Valley City and graduated from Cyprus High School. He earned an Associate of Arts and Science degree from Brigham Young University--Idaho; a Bachelor of Science in English, a minor in psychology, and Utah teaching credentials from Utah State University; and a Masters of Education degree from Westminster College. He has also earned a Masters of Science in Computer Science degree from Neumont College of Computer Science. Living in New Zealand, with its rich diversity, gave Mr. Coon a deep appreciation for the families, food, and languages of people from all around the world. He has earned the English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement through Weber State University. Many Granger High students know more than one language. Mr. Coon enjoys helping them add English to their lists.

He now spends much of his time outside of school doing volunteer work. He loves free food, is fluent in Spanish, and enjoys driving luxury vehicles (but he doesn’t own any). He is married and has three sons and one daughter.

Mr. Crowther married with four children.  Mr. Crowther graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a minor in Psychology.  He also has endorsements to teach math, health and financial literacy.  He received his Masters’ degree from the University of Phoenix in secondary education. He has coached football, basketball, and golf.   His favorite coaching memory was going to the state championship game while coaching football at Taylorsville and coaching Henry Leng, golfer here at Granger, when he almost won the state championship in golf three times.  Mr. Crowther also played football at Snow College in Ephraim Utah.

He became a high school teacher after moving to Utah over a decade ago and is excited to be part of the Granger family! When not in the classroom, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and young son.

Mr. Demoux graduated from Bountiful High School before attending the University of Utah.  At the University of Utah, he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology with a minor in family and consumer studies.  After working in the business world for several years, Mr. Demoux determined that education was the right career for him.  He began his teaching career teaching psychology, financial literacy, and debate in Murray school district before coming to Granger High School.  He now has a Master’s degree in education and supervision from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Demoux  has been at Granger since 2016 and loves every minute of his experience here.  He is married to a wonderful Granger graduate and has six amazing children who take up most of his spare time. Mr. Demoux enjoys camping, fishing and hiking with his family.

Mr. Eden has taught at Granger high since 2012. He is the Latinos in Action teacher and loves what he does. His favorite part about teaching is helping students find their path and feel successful. He has taught long enough that some of his students are graduating from college. He has 3 beautiful daughters and an amazing and supportive wife. He recently received his masters of science degree in Educational Leadership and will pursue a principal position. He loves soccer, reading, and sharing his talents with others.

Ms. Eggett's first year teaching and her first year at Granger was the 2019-2020 school year. She received her Associates degree from Snow College, spent a couple of semesters at the University of Utah and then transferred to Dixie State University. She graduated from Dixie State University in December of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biology Education Emphasis. Besides loving biology (and science in general), she loves cooking, baking, singing and playing music. She plays the violin, piano, ukulele, guitar, and a little bit of the flute. Being a teacher was/is one of Ms. Eggett's dreams, so it is so great to be "living the dream" as they say. 🙂

Mr. Felion was hired to teach PE/Health and coach Baseball in 2016 and has loved his experiences since returning to Granger. After playing baseball in Jr. College, he completed his degrees in physical education and health at Southern Utah University. In 2019, Coach Felion obtained his Master's of Science in Sports Conditioning and Performance and loves to work with athletes.

Mrs. Fichialos earned her bachelors in anthropology from the University of Utah in 2000. She also completed a general education teaching program in ’04 at the U. Mrs. Fichialos obtained her special education degree from Utah State in ’05 and her masters in school counseling from the University of Phoenix in ’09. She began teaching in 2004 with all but two of those years here at Granger. In her free time, Mrs. Fichialos enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, reading, gardening, and sleeping.

Mrs. Fukuda started working at Granger High School in the 2015-2016 School Year. She Graduated from BYU with a BA in Japanese with minors in teaching English as a second language and Global and Business Literacy. She has been studying Japanese since her freshman year in high school back in 2000. She has lived in Japan for over a year and half and has traveled all over the country. In her free time she loves to play ukulele, consume Japanese media, spend time with friends, family, and her three cats. She also loves learning about different cultures and languages.

Mr. Fuller enjoys being a member of the Granger High School Faculty. Mr. Fuller served in the United States Navy and has been teaching at Granger High School since 1999. He holds a Master of Arts Degree in History with a focus in World History from the University of Utah. His specialty is in medieval afro eurasian cross cultural networks and he studied the Turkish Language. He has a Bachelor of Science in Social Science Education Degree from Southern Utah University. Mr. Fuller has been a director in the theatre program at GHS since 2001. He has produced and directed 16 musicals and over 20 plays. When he is not here working he enjoys camping, long walks in forests and on beaches, reading, shooting black powder rifles, and spending as much time as he can with his five outstanding children, his lynx point Castiel and his Catahoula, Nashoba.

This is Ms. Fuller's first year teaching at Granger High school but she is no stranger to Granger. Ms. Fuller grew up in the halls of Granger, taking mini cheer and helping her father set up and take down his classroom at the beginning and end of every school year. Ms. Fuller is alumni and worked as a paraprofessional for five years at the school. Ms. Fuller has a Bachelors Degree in Family, Community, and Human Development, and has just started her Masters in Education with an emphasis in mild to moderate disabilities. When Ms. Fuller is not working or doing homework, you can find her making baked goods for loved ones or performing on a local community theater stage. After spending 13 years in Junior High School at Valley, Mr. Chris Gibbons joined Granger High School in 2013. Prior to that he taught at a High School in Washington State and at a K-8 Elementary School in Tennessee. He has raised 5 beautiful daughters and enjoys cooking elaborate meals for when they all return to celebrate the holidays. In addition to cooking, he also enjoys hiking and photography, and has been kicking around the idea of starting a food blog, simply because it would give him the excuse to eat more often!

MacKenzie attended the University of Utah for her Undergraduate in Human Development with an emphasis in Educational Psychology. She is currently working on her Master's of SpEd with an emphasis in behavior modification and plans to be graduate summer of 2020. MacKenzie's background is mainly social work, working with at-risk communities, primarily teenagers. MacKenzie also sits on the steering committee for Salt Lake City Juvenile Mental Health Court. Personally, MacKenzie is an animal rights activist, lives in Sugarhouse, and has a 12 year old daughter along with infant, identical twin boys.

Her husband is very supportive and motivates her to follow her dreams. She is been happily married for five years, and has a little boy. She loves to read, write, arts, and during her free time. Mrs. Howarth likes to spend time with her family and doing photography. Mr. Hughes came to Granger High in 2014. He earned his B.A. at the University of Utah in 1988. He began teaching at Jefferson Jr. High in 1990. He taught many subjects there, mostly Geography, until 2011. Along the way, he earned his M.Ed. from Lesley University in 2007. He was the School Technology Specialist at Hunter High from 2011-2014. He and his wonderful wife have three awesome sons, two fabulous daughters-in-law, two beautiful granddaughters, and one handsome grandson. Mr. Hughes loves sports, especially basketball, although injuries and gravity have slowed him down in recent years. He enjoys his moonlight job as an usher at concerts and Utah Jazz games where he has rubbed shoulders with some amazing people. He attended and worked at other nearby schools, but now it’s all about GHS! Go Lancers!

When not in the auditorium or studying history he enjoys running half marathons, hiking in national parks, and snowboarding the snowy slopes nearby. Mr. Locey earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in English, Spanish, and Secondary Education at BYU where he was also a captain of the cheer squad. He started his Granite School District career teaching at Kearns Jr. After moving to Hunter High, he graduated with a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Educational Technology from the U of U. Though Mr. Locey is an English teacher, he loves the mechanical world. He can usually be found riding a dirt bike in the summer time. Having had type II diabetes, he needed to be physically active, so he spends a good bit of time in the gym, too. Mr. Locey beat diabetes in 2012. He loves languages, speaks Spanish, German, and Pig Latin.

Ms. Loomis came to Utah after completing her Undergraduate degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She then received her Masters in the Art of Teaching degree with a focus on urban populations from the University of Utah. Ms. Loomis has been a Lancer since 2019. She spent 8 years teaching Junior High science in Murray and Salt Lake City. Ms. Loomis has taught since 2007. She took 2 years away from teaching to live and work on a farm in Idaho where she and her family grew food through the winter by using hotspring water to heat the greenhouses. Ms. Loomis swam as a Golden Gopher for the University of Minnesota and is our Lancer Assistant Swim Coach.

Ms. Merrill received a BS from BYU a very long time ago and a Masters of Education from Harvard which she received in 1999. Mr. Moore has a BA from BYU, an M.Ed from the U of U, and a WHA? from Duke of Earl University. He has been teaching instrumental and/or vocal music at Granger High since 1998. His interests include pyramids, glass, tangles, Slurpees, and petting zoos.

Mr. Murillo served 24 years in the U.S. Navy (retired). Mr. Murillo taught the first welding merit badge in our district for the Boy Scouts. He's been to Hawaii, Guam, Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Bali, Malaysia, Mexico, Gibraltar and Spain. He loves to camp, fish, scuba dive, and obviously travel and spend time with his family. Mr. Murillo has 2 kids, 14 and 16, and is a Granger High alumni (class of 83').

Cindy Neibaur taught 12 years in Southern Utah and Las Vegas before joining the Granger Lancer team in 2014. She received a BA in History at the University of Utah and a MA in Transpersonal Ecopsychology at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Ms. Neibaur is passionate about the natural world, creating positive sustainable communities, and empowering others to live their “truest” life.  If you ask her who her heroes in life are, without hesitation she will say, “My students. They are my liberators. They gave me the courage to live an open and free life.”

Mr. Pike is new to Granger as of 2016, previously to that he spent 13 years across the street at West Lake Jr. High. In his career, Mr. Pike has also taught for 20 years at Utah Valley University in both the School of Computer Science, and the PE department teaching Racquetball. He also coached the UVU Racquetball team for 15 years and won 2 national championships. Mr. Pike is an avid sports fan and loves to still play Softball in his spare time. Lt Col Terence Plumb, USAF, Retired, went to Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, CA. He has earned degrees in Psychology from BYU and Counseling from the College of Great Falls. He received his commission through ROTC and served in the U.S. Military for 25 years. Assignments include Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) duty at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, and teaching ROTC at the University of Washington and Arizona State University. After retirement he served for five years as the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) at Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He enjoys performing music, reading, travel, time with family and playing chess.

Tevita graduated in August 2017 with his Masters of Art in Professional Communication from Southern Utah University and is currently working toward his Doctorate of Education. While completing his education, Tevita has worked in multiple communication, teaching, event planning, and public speaking roles in Salt Lake City and southern Utah. Ms. Natalie is currently in graduate school studying to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A) and should finish it in the Spring/Summer of 2018. Mr. Tuckness was born in Las Vegas and went to high school in St. George.  At Dixie High, he lettered in basketball, baseball and tennis and caught the drama bug that lasted for the next 50 years. He graduated from four schools: Dixie, SUU, BYU, and finally received  a Ph.D. in Theatre History and Criticism from  the University of Utah in 1979. He has worked as an actor, director, and producer in over 300 major  stage productions. His favorite acting role was  Arthur in "Camelot" favorite directing was Shakespear's "A Mid Summer Nights Dream". Mr. Tuckness started teaching 42 years ago, in that time he has taught  High School Drama and Debate, and was a College professor, and administrator. This is his third year as Granger Debate Coach.  He received the Outstanding Teacher Award at Cottonwood High, The Teacher  Of The Year in Theatre and Speech  for the State of Utah , and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Murray Arts Council.His loves are travel, he just finished 60 years of visits to Disneyland, Fantasy Baseball, has eight teams, but his great love is family. He is married to Amber Tuckness, the Instrumental Music Teacher at Cottonwood. He has four children Tynan age four , Abriel age eleven, and two older kids,Joshua and Tara who have given him five grandchildren. So, Go Granger, Go Granger Debate, and Go Utes!!

He has worked in the education field since 2007 and has created education video for both live and pre recorded instruction. Mr. Wood is also very involved in FastPitch softball and is excited to be coaching the team this year. He started coaching because he loved the game, but has had more enjoyment in working with players and seeing them grow into their potential. Outside of school and softball, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids.
