Mr. Andrew graduated from USU with a BA in Spanish and later on he received a BS in Special Education. He loves to read, go hiking, snowboarding, and wake boarding (basically anything outside). He has been married since 2005 and his son was born in 2016. For him, Granger has been an awesome place to work!

Mr. Carlisle teaches journalism, yearbook, and photography in J-102. His teaching endorsements/qualifications include: English, economics, visual arts: photography and CTE: commercial photography. In addition, he is a JEA-certified journalism educator, a UBI-certified bike mechanic, and a ULC-certified wedding officiant. In his spare time, he sews for his secret brand, Blacktag Bags, and he also serves as the chair of the board of directors for Craft Lake City, a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans. In addition, he shoots for SLUG Magazine almost every month, and his photos are attributed to his T9 pseudonym.

Mr. Carter graduated from Taylorsville High in 2009. After getting his Associate's Degree at SLCC, Mr. Carter graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education at Utah Valley University in 2017. Mr. Carter completed his student teaching at Granger High and this will be his sixth year teaching at Granger. When he's not teaching, Mr. Carter enjoys watching horror movies, playing video games, reading true crime stories, and spending time with his wife.

Ms. Christensen is a Native Utahn, born and raised in suburbia of Sugarhouse, long before it became a City hot-spot. After graduating from Highland High School, she set off into an adventure of higher education, exploring a wide variety of academic areas. She graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor's of Science and then earned a Master's Degree of Education from Southern Utah University, Weber State College, and Utah Valley University, while simultaneously raising both a Son (Alexander) and Daughter (Ruby). Ms. Christensen loves to read, write, travel, camp, paddle-board, ski and cook.

He graduated from the DeSales University in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and is enrolled at Southern Utah University for Special Education. He loves spending time with friends and playing/coaching lacrosse. He also enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking and snowboarding.

Mrs. Fichialos earned her bachelors in anthropology from the University of Utah in 2000. She also completed a general education teaching program in ’04 at the U. Mrs. Fichialos obtained her special education degree from Utah State in ’05 and her masters in school counseling from the University of Phoenix in ’09. She began teaching in 2004 with all but two of those years here at Granger. In her free time, Mrs. Fichialos enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, shopping, reading, gardening, and sleeping.

Mr. Foster received his Bachelor of Science from Southern Utah University in History with a minor in Geography. He is currently attending SUU to receive his Masters in Public Administration and Masters in Education. This is Mr. Foster's 2nd year teaching in Special Education. Mr. Foster is an assistant coach for the Girls Basketball team. Mr. Foster enjoys many sports, including Basketball, Football, Baseball, Golf, Soccer, and Hockey. Mr. Foster is also a huge history buff and enjoys to read about history in his free time. A graduate of Cyprus High School, Mr. Foster has grown up in the same community and is excited to be a part of the Lancer team. Lets come together to make Granger and the community the best it can be! Go Lancers!

Mrs. Gardner graduated from USU with her Master’s in Education. She is an alumnus of Granger and is proud to be a Lancer! She has 2 rambunctious children, that keep her and her husband on their toes. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and painting for her small business in wood crafts & signs.

After spending 13 years in Junior High School at Valley, Mr. Chris Gibbons joined Granger High School in 2013. Prior to that he taught at a High School in Washington State and at a K-8 Elementary School in Tennessee. He has raised 5 beautiful daughters and enjoys cooking elaborate meals for when they all return to celebrate the holidays. In addition to cooking, he also enjoys hiking and photography, and has been kicking around the idea of starting a food blog, simply because it would give him the excuse to eat more often!

MacKenzie attended the University of Utah for her Undergraduate in Human Development with an emphasis in Educational Psychology and completed her Master's of SpEd with an emphasis in behavior modification. She is currently enrolled in Western Governer's University working towards an MEd. in Educational Leadership. MacKenzie's background is mainly social work, working with at-risk communities, primarily teenagers. MacKenzie also sits on the steering committee for Salt Lake City Juvenile Mental Health Court. Personally, MacKenzie is an animal and equal rights activist and lives in Sugarhouse with her 15 year old daughter, 3.5yo identical twin boys, and 3 cats.

El Profe Kendall has taught at Granger since 2019. He was born and raised in Santiago, Chile. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Teaching Spanish from the University of Utah. He enjoys learning and providing learning opportunities for others. His wife (a Science teacher) and him have a blended family of seven children ranging in age from the eldest daughter, age 28, to their little sixth grader son. Hands-on learning discoveries, varied learning experiences, using technology in the learning process, developing personal responsibility and a love of learning are the focus of El Profe’s classroom. It is his goal to develop independent learners who have a love for learning.

Ms. Kimpel has been teaching since 2009 and joined the Granger team in 2015. She graduated with a double bachelors in Psychology and ESL and History teaching. She doubles as the school's ALP lead and loves working with Granger's diverse population. In her free time she enjoys hiking, writing, music and photography. She spends her summers traveling the world and spending time with her family. She speaks fluent Spanish and some French.

Mr. Locey earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in English, Spanish, and Secondary Education at BYU where he was also a captain of the cheer squad. He started his Granite School District career teaching at Kearns Jr. After moving to Hunter High, he graduated with a Master of Education in Instructional Design and Educational Technology from the U of U. Though Mr. Locey is an English teacher, he loves the mechanical world. He can usually be found riding a dirt bike in the summer time. Having had type II diabetes, he needed to be physically active, so he spends a good bit of time in the gym, too. Mr. Locey beat diabetes in 2012. He loves languages, speaks Spanish, German, and Pig Latin.

Ms. Mathews graduated from New Mexico State University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. Ms. Mathews has taught at Granger since 2019. She teaches Reading and Language. When Ms. Mathews isn't teaching, she loves spending time with family, especially her two Cocker Spaniels, Duncan, and Kono. Her hobbies are anything outdoors, and she lives to golf.

Ms. Emily Parrish has been teaching English at Granger High since 2010.  She teaches AP English, Concurrent enrollment English 1010, and College Prep English.  She enjoys reading, writing, talking about reading and writing, and teaching about reading and writing. She graduated with both her bachelor’s and her master’s degrees from Utah State University and has been teaching for 20+ years.

Her fondest dream is to one day visit Paris to look at the art and architecture, and to use her rusty French.

She got her Master's Degree from Walden University in Reading and Literacy. Mrs. Tidwell has been teaching for 16 years and LOVES it! Her interests include: enjoying and being with family, organizing everything, reading everything, and hiking everywhere.

Mr. Tuckness was born in Las Vegas and went to high school in St. George.  At Dixie High, he lettered in basketball, baseball and tennis and caught the drama bug that lasted for the next 50 years. He graduated from four schools: Dixie, SUU, BYU, and finally received  a Ph.D. in Theatre History and Criticism from  the University of Utah in 1979. He has worked as an actor, director, and producer in over 300 major  stage productions. His favorite acting role was  Arthur in "Camelot" favorite directing was Shakespear's "A Mid Summer Nights Dream". Mr. Tuckness started teaching 42 years ago, in that time he has taught  High School Drama and Debate, and was a College professor, and administrator. This is his third year as Granger Debate Coach.  He received the Outstanding Teacher Award at Cottonwood High, The Teacher  Of The Year in Theatre and Speech  for the State of Utah , and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Murray Arts Council.His loves are travel, he just finished 60 years of visits to Disneyland, Fantasy Baseball, has eight teams, but his great love is family. He is married to Amber Tuckness, the Instrumental Music Teacher at Cottonwood. He has four children Tynan age four , Abriel age eleven, and two older kids,Joshua and Tara who have given him five grandchildren. So, Go Granger, Go Granger Debate, and Go Utes!!
