Mr. Ballew is Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified, Hunter Equipment Certified, has a BSHS from University of Phoenix 2005 and a Masters in Education Special Education University of Phoenix 2007. Mr. Ballew has been teaching since 1997 and here at Granger since 2012. He is a gearhead like no other. If you cut his arm, he said he will bleed grease and oil. Mr. Ballew loves working on cars and with teens showing them the wonders found in today’s technological marvels. Mr. Ballew has been married since 1992 to a wonderful woman and his best friend. They have four children, married, with seven grandchildren. When Mr. Ballew isn’t here at Granger you can find him in working on his high school muscle car.

Mr. Carlisle teaches journalism, yearbook, and photography in J-102. His teaching endorsements/qualifications include: English, economics, visual arts: photography and CTE: commercial photography. In addition, he is a JEA-certified journalism educator, a UBI-certified bike mechanic, and a ULC-certified wedding officiant. In his spare time, he sews for his secret brand, Blacktag Bags, and he also serves as the chair of the board of directors for Craft Lake City, a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, promote and inspire local artisans. In addition, he shoots for SLUG Magazine almost every month, and his photos are attributed to his T9 pseudonym.

Mrs. Chalmers graduated from Pepperdine University in California with a Bachelors of Arts. She grew up in California but moved to Utah after college with her husband. She has been teaching at Granger since 2003. She teaches beginning, intermediate and advanced graphics. She loves teaching the design process and seeing how students learn and create their own work. Out of the classroom, she loves sunshine, reading, computer arts and spending time with her husband and four kids.

Mr. Johnson is happy to teach here at Granger High! He’s excited to teach the students how vehicles are constructed and how to put them back together after an accident. He will also be teaching students how to paint vehicles and properly get them ready for paint. Mr. Johnson is looking forward to a fun and exciting year here at Granger.

Chris went to college at Westminster and has a degree in Biomedical Visualization (A degree that combines science and 3D animation/design). He is also a graduate of Kearns High. Chris has recently worked as a 3D animator at a local motion design agency called Gantry. Before that Chris was a design & animation mentor at Spy Hop. Chris loves teaching and is super excited to be a new member of the Granger Community!

Mr. Masimer has a BS Ed. Taylor University M Ed. Utah State University. He has been teaching for 20 years, 15 years at West Lake Jr. and 5 years at Granger. He worked in the construction industry for 30 years prior to shifting his career to education. Outside of the classroom he likes to mountain bike, snow ski, and generally loves being outdoors. He has 3 children and 12 grandchildren.

Mr. Murillo served 24 years in the U.S. Navy (retired). Mr. Murillo taught the first welding merit badge in our district for the Boy Scouts. He's been to Hawaii, Guam, Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Bali, Malaysia, Mexico, Gibraltar and Spain. He loves to camp, fish, scuba dive, and obviously travel and spend time with his family. Mr. Murillo has 2 kids and is a Granger High alumni (class of 83').

Mr. Platero is a graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in business communication and a masters degree in Education. He is a member of the Navajo Nation and loves to celebrate his culture with his community. Mr. Platero has been a school counselor at Granger High and West Lake STEM Jr. High, prior to his new job as the new CTE Career Center Coordinator at Granger, Mr. Platero is excited to be a Lancer again after being gone for 7 years, he loves coaching high school basketball and playing golf whenever he gets the chance. Mr. Platero is married to his wife Sylvia, they have four children and one granddaughter, one cat and two dogs.

Lt Col Terence Plumb, USAF, Retired, went to Patrick Henry High School in San Diego, CA. He has earned degrees in Psychology from BYU and Counseling from the College of Great Falls. He received his commission through ROTC and served in the U.S. Military for 25 years. Assignments include Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) duty at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, and teaching ROTC at the University of Washington and Arizona State University. After retirement he served for five years as the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) at Northeast High School in Lincoln, Nebraska. He enjoys performing music, reading, travel, time with family and playing chess.

Mr. Wood is excited to be teaching at Granger High School. He graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2013 with a Masters in Information Technology. He has worked in the education field since 2007 and has created education video for both live and pre recorded instruction. Mr. Wood is also very involved in FastPitch softball and is excited to be coaching the team this year. He started coaching because he loved the game, but has had more enjoyment in working with players and seeing them grow into their potential. Outside of school and softball, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids.
