Ms. Carr grew-up in Northern California near San Francisco. She attended BYU where she studied Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. Ms. Carr enjoys playing soccer, watching sports, eating new foods, and hanging out with family. This is Ms. Carr's first year teaching at Granger and she is so excited to be a Lancer! Mr. Dain is originally from Kansas and has his Masters in Chemistry from Wichita State University. He became a high school teacher after moving to Utah over a decade ago and is enjoys being part of the Granger family! Mr. Dain loves to help students develop a plan for their life after high school and finding ways to assist them in making that plan a reality. When not in the classroom, he enjoys spending time outdoors or in the kitchen with his wife and young sons.

Ms. Eggett's first year teaching and her first year at Granger was the 2019-2020 school year. She received her Associates degree from Snow College, spent a couple of semesters at the University of Utah and then transferred to Dixie State University. She graduated from Dixie State University in December of 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Biology Education Emphasis. Besides loving biology (and science in general), she loves cooking, baking, singing and playing music. She plays the violin, piano, ukulele, guitar, and a little bit of the flute. Being a teacher was/is one of Ms. Eggett's dreams, so it is so great to be "living the dream" as they say. 🙂

Ms. Loomis came to Utah after completing her Undergraduate degree in Geology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She then received her Masters in the Art of Teaching degree with a focus on urban populations from the University of Utah. Ms. Loomis has been a Lancer since 2019. She spent 8 years teaching Junior High science in Murray and Salt Lake City. Ms. Loomis has taught since 2007. She took 2 years away from teaching to live and work on a farm in Idaho where she and her family grew food through the winter by using hotspring water to heat the greenhouses. Ms. Loomis swam as a Golden Gopher for the University of Minnesota and is our Lancer Assistant Swim Coach.

Mr Pluim has 6 general biology classes being taught in F203. Mr Pluim started teaching in 1992 but was interrupted by military deployments. Mr Pluim has taught Chemistry, Microbiology, 8th Grade Science and now Biology. Mr Pluim loves gardening and fishing. He has spent 39 years in the military primarily as a helicopter pilot.

Mr. Price has been teaching science for many years, back before they invented The Scientific Method. Here at Granger he has taught Biology, Earth Science and currently teaching Forensic Science. He earned an associate's degree from Salt Lake Community College and his Bachelor’s degree from Weber State University. When he’s not at school you can find him camping, fishing, hunting or riding ATV’s with his wife, kids and grandchildren. He hates mowing the grass.

Mr. Sandrock traveled the world for 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, mainly as a journalist, retiring in 2014 here in Salt Lake City. After a year as a student in Salt Lake Community College Geosciences, he entered an accelerated graduate program at Westminster College, earning Master of Arts in Teaching in 2016. Teaching at Granger ever since, he is an avid motorcycle rider, aspiring novelist, and huge Star Wars nerd. He cherishes every minute spent with his newlywed bride Mindi and his two high-school kiddos Jacob and Paige.

Mr. Starace studied Geology at Keene State College and is now currently a student at the University of Utah. He has taught at Granger since 2019. Mr. Starace strives to educate ALL students about the wonders of Earth and space. He is currently working with the Utah Geological Survey to help our local city better understand earthquakes in West Valley City and the greater Salt Lake area. In his free time, Mr. Starace enjoys physical training, skiing, and fly fishing.

Ms. Van Duyn is loving her experience at Granger High School as a biology teacher and has been also really lucky to advise MESA with their activities. She is from Houston, TX but grew up in Albany, NY (long story) and has been in Utah for several years now. Although she misses the ocean near Houston, the scenery in Utah is really beautiful and she's looking forward to learning more about the ecosystems here!
