Mrs. Anderson is very excited to be at Granger this year! She went to SLCC, Westminster College, and the University of Utah. She loves all sports and was lucky enough to be able to play basketball at SLCC and Westminster College. She is excited to be a counselor at the same school her Mom taught at for 35 years!

Mrs. Bruuning received her Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Oregon University, and her Master's degree in School Psychology from Rochester Institute of Technology. This is her 7th year working for Granite School district and her 1st year working at Granger High School. She enjoys hiking, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.

Mónica Dantiela Candia Marin was born in Durango, Mexico. She moved to the United States at a young age and grew up in Ephraim, Utah. Ms. Candia attended Manti High School, Snow College, University of Utah and the University of Phoenix. She loves working as a counselor and is very happy to be working at Granger High School.

Ms. Paola was raised in San Diego, California and moved to Utah in 2016. She has been a social worker since 2018 and absolutely loves to provide support for our students. In her "off" time, you can find her hanging out with her labradoodle Mosey or binge watching Stranger Things.

Mrs. Havea has been working for Granger since 2010. She worked as a college adviser for the first three years before she joined our counseling team. She received her Bachelors at the University of Utah and a Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. When she’s not working, she enjoys shopping, cooking, traveling and hanging out with her family.

Ms. McMorrow is new to our Granger community. She has just moved with her family to Utah in the summer of 2021. Loving the outdoors, Utah is a great place for her to call home. Ms. McMorrow completed her undergraduate education in her home state of Michigan before moving to Alaska for graduate school. She earned her Master of Education in school counseling from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and then went on to pursue her Doctor of Philosophy in counselor education from the same institution. She is excited to be a Lancer and looks forward to working with students to help them reach their goals.

Ms. Oliver has been at Granger High since 1998. Originally from Southern California, she attended Utah State University and decided to make her roots in Utah. Besides counseling, Ms. Oliver is also the student body advisor to the Junior Class officers.
When she isn’t advising students, she loves road trips, trying local restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.

Mr. Platero is a graduate of the University of Utah with a bachelors degree in business communication and a masters degree in Education. He is a member of the Navajo Nation and loves to celebrate his culture with his community. Mr. Platero has been a school counselor at Granger High and West Lake STEM Jr. High, prior to his new job as the new CTE Career Center Coordinator at Granger, Mr. Platero is excited to be a Lancer again after being gone for 7 years, he loves coaching high school basketball and playing golf whenever he gets the chance. Mr. Platero is married to his wife Sylvia, they have four children and one granddaughter, one cat and two dogs.

Ms. Laura Sherman

Ms. Sherman grew up in Elko, Nevada. After graduating from high school, she left Elko to attend college at the University of Utah where she received her Bachelor’s degree, followed by her Master’s degree from the University of Phoenix. She started her counseling career in 2014 as an elementary counselor, but then transitioned to a high school counselor in 2015. She enjoys meeting and working with students in her alphabet.

Ms. Switzer has been a counselor at Granger since 2016. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from BYU and a Master’s degree in Psychology from Utah State University. She loves being outdoors, running, eating delicious food, and knitting. She has 2 adorable cats and 1 little dog, and loves to show off pictures of her “children” in her office, so feel free to stop in to see them! She is excited to be a Lancer and loves working at Granger.

Ms. Takashima has been a school counselor at Granger since 2013. She was formerly a Special Education teacher for fifteen years in Granite District. She graduated from BYU (B.S.) and the University of Phoenix (M.Ed). Ms. Takashima lived in Miyazaki, Japan for six years where she taught English and American Cultural Studies. She is the mother of two sons, and loves traveling and trying new foods.
