Dear Valued Granite District Parents and Families,
Due to significant snowfall that is having a detrimental impact on electrical power and transportation, the district will be switching to a distance learning day for all schools on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Please review the following information and follow up with your respective teacher(s) and school if you have any questions. Above all else, safety is our goal as we work to provide support to our students today. This is the first time we will utilize this distance learning option. We expect that there will be some issues or circumstances that will arise that will require patience and flexibility. We appreciate your support as we work through those concerns.
Students should remain home today and check their email, canvas, google classroom, paper packets (sent home previously) and other resources as provided by their teachers to follow up on assignments and instruction. If your child does not have learning materials, please reach out to your school to access resources. All Preschool classes are canceled today and there will be no distance instruction.
With respect to extra-curricular activities and events scheduled for today, we expect to update administrators later this morningon how to proceed. Some activities may be able to be held as scheduled and your individual school, teacher and coach will follow up with you directly as appropriate.
Above all else, please stay safe today.
Sincerely,
Dr. Rich Nye, Superintendent
Granite School District
