Dear Granite School District Families,
I hope this message finds you well as we are nearing the end of another school year. As you may be aware, Granite Nutrition Services was greatly impacted by the labor and supply shortages facing the country right now. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we have tried to navigate these challenges during this school year.
Our commitment, as always, is to ensure students have access to nutritious food at all Granite school sites. As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, there are some important changes to be aware of that could impact Granite families. Currently as legislation stands, all USDA Nationwide waivers will be expiring at the end of the current school year. This means we can no longer offer free breakfasts and lunches to all students next school year.
Granite Nutrition Services will continue to operate the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs at our school sites in the 2022-2023 school year. Families can and are encouraged to apply for Free or Reduced-Price meals beginning July 1, 2022.
Below is a list of frequently asked questions. I hope this will provide more information.
