Granger High School’s rich tradition of academic, artistic, and athletic excellence has represented an anchor to West Valley City, in the heart of Utah’s Salt Lake Valley, for more than 60 years. In the past ten years, the school and surrounding area have experienced major changes in demographics and enrollment. The majority of our students are bilingual, coming from over fifty countries to learn at Granger High. Over thirty languages are spoken in the homes of students from Granger High.
Granger High School is an academic high school, focused on college readiness. In order to support its mission to lead students to post-secondary education, Granger was awarded a $2 million dollar federal School Improvement Grant. This grant is being used to strengthen academic excellence by lowering class sizes in tenth grade math and English, providing professional support to teachers, and strengthening our honors, AP and Concurrent course offerings. In addition, Granger also holds a 21st Century Grant for after-school efforts.
Granger High School was rebuilt from 2010-2013. Groundbreaking of the new school building took place on September 17th, 2010 during halftime of the school’s homecoming game. The new building was complete and opened the fall 2013.

Computers and Technology
Granger High features eight computer labs and minilabs for schoolwide technology use. Each classroom has a projector and most teachers utilize a document camera, Smartboard, or tablets in the classroom. Some teachers are trained to run iSchool, using iPod Touches in their classroom activities. Granger maintains a regularly-updated Twitter feed.
