CTE Pathways
- CTE Pathways are a “road map” that shows classes that students take to help them achieve their academic and personal goals for their future.
- Utah Career Pathways align with and are categorized by the national Career Clusters®. Each Career Pathway culminates in an industry recognized credential of value.
- Students may complete a pathway to receive a completer certificate and a bronze cord to wear at graduation.
- Why complete a CTE Pathway?
- Enhance your college/employment applications.
- Becoming a pathway completer has a direct connection between doing well in high school, and post-secondary achievements whether that is going directly into your career and/or getting some additional higher education degrees.
- Students who focus on a Career Pathway acquire the skills necessary for entry into well-paid careers with high potential for rapid financial growth, increased levels of responsibility, and a high degree of personal satisfaction.

CTE Scholarships
- The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Scholarships and Tuition Awards are for outstanding CTE students in Utah. The scholarships/awards are sponsored by the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) with funds provided by participating higher education institutions. The award amount varies by institutions. High School seniors may apply. Applications are available November 1st and due February 1st.

Internships
- Student interns take a semester long pass/fail class which allows them to explore a career in depth. This program requires students to complete:
- 40 hours at the internship site
- Course work, where they will build a LinkedIn account, create a resume and participate in mock interviews
- A PowerPoint presentation as the final project, which will be presented at the junior high schools
Military
- Today’s U.S. Military branches offer great training, education, and educational financing programs, as well as opportunities for life-long careers. Listed below are links to some of the military branches, as well as contact information for local recruiters. If you would like to explore the different military options, you can go to Today’s Military.
- You may also consider reaching out to local military recruiters Local Military Representatives Resource List or check with the Olympus High Career Center to find out when recruiters may be visiting the school.
- Utah Army National Guard Schooling Benefits
- Junior ROTC programs are available for 9-12 graders. Granger High School offers an Air Force JROTC program.
- The military offers one, two, and four year scholarships. These scholarships pay for tuition, books and fees at the student’s chosen college or university where there is an ROTC program. Applicants are selected based on grades, SAT or ACT scores, and extracurricular activities. They also give the recipients cash for living expenses. - Students interested in attending a military academies must complete a fairly complex appointment process beginning in their junior year. Candidates are nominated to these programs and the sooner you begin, the better your chances of receiving full consideration. The first step is to complete a preliminary application found on each academy’s web page. It is also recommended that you contact an Admissions Liaison Officer early on in the application process. Work Based Learning
- Job Shadowing: We help students find opportunities to observe careers by visiting the work-sites, meeting with career professionals, and touring facilities.
- Field Trips: Throughout the school year, colleges and business invite high school students to attend career seminars and workshops. Some of these groups come to the Granger High School campus, while others are off site. For some of these opportunities, Granite School District provides transportation.
