Positive Behavior Intervention System
Lancer Pride is the Granger High School Version of PBIS, Positive Behavior Intervention System. In other words we show Lancer Pride through our Positive Behavior. We have created a Positive Behavior Intervention System at our school to create a culture that fosters academic, extra curricular and professional success. Because of this program and the culture of our school our students are not inconsiderate, but thoughtful. They are not entitled, but empowered. They are not disconnected, but connected.

We are Granger.
In order to teach students to make positive behavior a life long habit we have created a Multi Tiered Support System. Our system consist of both positive behavior reinforcements and a system for behavior intervention. However, since this is Granger, it mostly consists of positive behavior reinforcements.
Our multi tiered support system consists of three simple steps.
- Clearly defined and effectively taught behavioral expectations.
- A reward system that students and teachers love because it truly motivates students to act and be better citizens.
- An intervention system with consistent consequences that actually gets results.
Tier 1 – Lancer Pride Expectations
We have created a clearly defined set of behavioral expectations. These expectations are taught through videos and mini lessons on GTV which is broadcast to the individual classrooms where teachers then have a classroom discussion about the expectations. The Lancer Pride expectations are also taught through quarterly grade level assemblies. Perhaps the most effective teaching of the Granger PBIS expectations is through one on one interactions between students and their teachers, in which teachers reward the positive behavior and take a moment to teach the expectation.

Tier 2 – G-Cards and the G-Store
In the spring of 2016 Granger High School launched the G-Store. The G-Store is the place to buy all things Granger. Check out the video below to see some of the items that can be purchased at the G-Store.
Students can purchase SWAG with money or G-Cards. The G-Cards are worth one dollar on Granger SWAG. Teachers reward kids with G-Cards when they catch them being thoughtful, empowered or connected. It pays to be good. It is cool to act responsibly. Check out the video to see how it works.

As you can see the students love earning G-Cards and are thrilled with the new G-Store.
Tier 3 – pbi INTERVENTIONS
An intervention system with consistent consequences that actually gets results.
We have clearly defined course of action for when a student does not follow the schools rules, regulations and expectations. The consequences are taught to students during the detailed PBIS training that was explained in Tier 1. These things include a custom made “Granger Dress Code T-Shirt” for dress code violations, fines for tardies and unexcused absences and more. As part of our intervention plan, administrators may meet with students to reteach expectations prior to returning to class.
