Andy White has taught science in grades Nursery through 12. He enjoys nature and the many surprises he finds when running, hiking, skiing, canoeing, or just sitting in the great outdoors . . . which may be high on a mountain peak, next to a lazy river, or in his own back yard (which is only a couple of blocks from Oakwood. His two sons went to school at Oakwood and he used to bring his dog down here to chase tennis balls.)
Every time he goes through Oakwood on a neighborhood walk, he keeps his eyes open for more amazing natural things. What can you find?
Please take a moment to enjoy the new art display in the main showcase of Oakwood Elementary’s foyer. You will find approximately 20 shadow boxes artfully displaying the beauty of nature through the talents of Andy White, who also used to be a teacher.
This display was arranged by our art specialist, Erica Wangsgard, who happened across Andy’s art at an art show she attended. Once she found out he was a former teacher and lived within our Oakwood boundaries, she convinced him to share his natural treasures with us. We hope you enjoy the beauty of nature on display in our school.
