Welcome back Owls! Here are the 3 easy steps to make sure you are prepared for the start of the new school year.

Step 1: Starting July 29th, parents/guardians complete required registration forms on FOCUS, the district’s new information system for teachers and parents. Once completed, you will see who your student’s teacher will be for the coming year.

A:          Login to the new FOCUS (link to how to login)

  • If you had a Parent Portal account, then your login remains the same.
  • Forgot your password? Then follow these steps to create a new one.
  • Need to create an account? Select here for instructions to help you.

B:          Once logged in, follow these steps to complete the new school year registration forms.

How do I find out who my teacher(s) will be?

As a friendly reminder, you will find out who your child’s teacher is after you successfully complete the online registration process. We appreciate your support and trust in our efforts to make your child’s learning experience successful and happy!

Please Note: We received word from our Information Systems Department that teacher placement, or school schedules, could take anywhere from 1-3 hours to populate in your Portal after you complete the registration process. The system takes time to process all of the information and paperwork. We were told that there will be a “block” on FOCUS that should appear with information regarding classes, grades and absences that will show you who your teacher is, or you can click on the student’s name on the left side of the screen and click ‘class schedule’.

How is my student’s teacher decided?

Grade Level Supply Needs – Amazon Wish Lists from the teachers

Instead of requiring students to bring every item on the supply list, our school has elected to receive the needed supplies through Amazon Wish Lists. Please donate to the grade level’s needs if possible. Thank you!

Step 2: Plan to attend Meet Your Teacher Open House on

Monday, August 12th from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

Students will meet their teacher, see their classroom, meet fellow classmates, and get a back to school picture with the teacher if you so desire. Teachers will be handing out an information packet regarding grade level information and classroom expectations.

Our amazing PTA will be providing volunteer sign ups in the school’s main gym.

This event will follow an “open house” format. It is suggested that those families with the last name that begins with A-L attend between the hours 5:30pm – 5:30pm and those families with last name that begins with M-Z attend from 5:30pm – 6:30pm.

Oakwood Parent/Student Involvement

This form will allow you to do the following:

  • Become a PTA Member
  • Add your contact to the School Directory
  • Donate a “Birthday Book” to the school library
  • Purchase a School Yearbook
  • Donate to the PTA

Important Dates & Reminders

– School Picture Day:

Fall: Friday, September 13th

Makeup Day: Thursday, November 7th from 10:00-12:00

Spring: Thursday, February 27th from 10:45-1:15

Drop off and Pick Up Reminders

To ensure that our teachers are given the proper time to make final preparations for the day’s lessons, students and parents are not to arrive to school before 8:45am. Students will be invited to head to the back playground area to await the 1st bell at 9am. Teachers will meet their students out back between 9 – 9:05am. School concludes at 3:45pm on regular bell schedule days (1:40pm on early out days) and we ask that parents do not pick up their student(s) before this time unless it necessary every so often. We strive to maximize the learning time that we have with students and continual tardiness and early pick ups may distract from this goal.
