Today is the 150th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. Classes have spent several weeks preparing for this landmark day by utilizing activities on the Gettyready website, participating in skits, game shows, poems, and memorization.
Mrs. Frandsen’s 6th grade class staged a game show where panelists asked questions to determine “Who Is the Real Abraham Lincoln?” Many facts were shared as participants tried to determine which contestant represented the real Lincoln.
Mrs. Hurd had a remarkable 2nd grader, Kate, who memorized the entire Gettysburg Address and recited the speech in front of a school and parent audience. In addition, one of our little first graders, Annabelle, memorized the first paragraph and shared her presentation with parents and students. Both students used vocal and facial expression engaging the audience.
