During a quick visit to Coach Chart’s PE class, kindergarteners demonstrated how they kept fit while having fun. Various exercise stations were set up around the gym. The padded mats were designated for sit-ups and push-ups, the stage stairs were used for step aerobics, and open corners were for jumping jacks. Fast paced, popular music was played while students tried to avoid being tagged by a half-dozen children carrying bean bags. If a kindergartener happened to be tagged, that child would immediately go to one of the fitness centers of their choice to “work-out.” When the exercise rep was complete, the student would once again join the game of tag.
Prior training for each of the exercises was given in advance culminating in this fun, energetic activity. The kindergartners enjoyed the running as much as the exercising. Everyone had an opportunity to practice their skills, build endurance and stamina, while laughing and playing. Thanks Coach Chart for a great time!
