The school gym was turned into a dance studio during the first No Tardy Party at Oakwood. If students were in school on time every day during the month of January, they got to attend the party. The gym was full of laughing, dancing children filled with excitement for the fun activity.
Granite District data showed that out of all elementary schools, Oakwood was near the bottom of the pack in high absenteeism and tardies. The No Tardy Party was used as an incentive to motivate students to get to school on time. It looks like the incentive is working because Oakwood is now in the middle of the mix. Let’s make every second of instruction time count!
