Welcome Message from the PTA
Welcome to Oakwood Elementary! If you are have been here and know the routine, I hope you will continue to get involved. Parent support is what sets us apart as an exceptional school. If you are a new family, I want to extend a special welcome. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I know sometimes it can be overwhelming to navigate a new environment…you will love it here!
Just a few reminders:
Registration is Thursday, August 6 from 8:00-12:00.
Come find out who your teachers are and sign up for all the fun PTA programs and activities. The membership form to join PTA is in your registration paperwork.
A Granite School District specialist will be available during registration in the computer lab located just across the hall from the cafeteria where registration will be. If you have not signed up on the Parent Portal, this will give you a chance to get that crossed off your list. Parent Portal allows you to login to the student Gradebook as well as receive email communication from the School and District. If you don’t have time to take care of it during registration, you can follow the directions located on Oakwood’s website.
In your paperwork you will find a form to sign up for the school directory; please double check that all your contact information is correct. Also, look for Parking Lot protocol, bus numbers and schedules, and other useful information.
If your summer is still going strong and you cannot make it to registration- do not worry! You can come on the first day of school and check in at the office. All the PTA sign up sheets will be in the entrance foyer.
Just one more reminder: Please save your box tops and soda can tops throughout the year! Students can turn these in any time. We appreciate every little bit.

Aug 26: Kindergarten starts- Join us just outside the Kindergarten entrance to either “Boo-hoo” or “Woo-hoo” with other parents after your drop your kiddo off
Aug 27: Chess club starts 8:00
Aug 28: Room parent’s tea 1:45
Sept 2: Owl Chorale starts 8:15
Sept 3: PTA meeting 1:00- Everyone Welcome!
Sept 22-23: Grandparents Day/Book Fair
Sept 28-29: SEP’s
