Hello Oakwood, hey it is Mr. Bailey and I wanted to talk to you today about having toys, Pokémon cards at school.
If you can believe it, I was a kid once and there was nothing I loved more than my trading cards. Here are a few of them that I still have to this day.
I loved bringing my cards to school to show my friends and even trade some of them. Though this can be a fun experience, we are seeing an increase of cards becoming a distraction on the playground and in the classroom.
Owls, your parents expect that I am doing everything I can to support a healthy learning environment. Though Pokémon Cards are fun to have at home, they can distract us from learning at school.
After talking it over with our fabulous teachers, I am asking that we keep all trading cards &/or other little toys at home (this does not include bringing like a sport ball from home to play with at recess). A teacher may allow a student to have an item(s) for a specific class activity (i.e. show and tell), but this is on a case-by-case basis and the teacher will regulate the use of the item during the school hours. If a student brings items to school, then they must remain in your backpack or another secure location.
Parents, the school is not responsible for or obligated to investigate personal items brought from home that are lost or stolen.
I love you Owls and I want to make sure we keep your prized possessions safe at home!
