489 students made up 90 different elementary school chess clubs from around Utah. They participated in a state tournament at the University of Utah. Oakwood’s team took 15th place!! Way to go!!
Today we had mini lessons in every classroom about being BRAVE! We had a blast with Downhill Dave and Becca Bubbles at recess too! @apexfunrunsaltlakecity

One of the best parts of our day was the entire school running through the “High Five Zone!” Our 6th graders were awesome and made way for lots of laughs and fives!
No Tardy Party
Students who did not have a single tardy for the month of February were invited to participate in our school-wide "No Tardy Party" this week. We had a lot of fun playing BINGO and the winners had an opportunity to select a treasure from the Prize Table. We are so proud of the efforts our students are making to get to school on time. “The Lorax”, “My Many Colored Days”, “One Fish, Two Fish”, and “Yertle the Turtle” are just a few of the fun Dr. Seuss books we read last week. They inspired all this fun artwork!
Meet The Masters is a wonderful program that is made possible by our PTA. Parent volunteers get trained how to teach the art styles and a different artist is featured each month. These are pastel Mary Cassatt “originals” and each one has been uniquely made by our students.
