Sophie Rose Barton, a vibrant and inspiring, Olympus student, passed away unexpectedly in the summer of 2010. At 17, Sophie, already an accomplished and gifted singer/songwriter, often volunteered at Primary Children’s Hospital, delighting and lifting the spirits of the young patients through music. She lit up what was most beautiful in everyone and everything around her. Her work continues through Sophie’s Place, special music therapy rooms dedicated to healing through music in children’s hospitals across the country. The Barton family honors recipients based on Sophie’s example of giving service and sharing talents. May your light, like hers, continue to shine. The recipient will be selected by Sophie’s family.
