What is the Middle Years Program (MYP) at Churchill Junior High?

Created by the International Baccalaureate® (IB), the Middle Years Program (MYP) is a five-year framework that encourages students to develop their knowledge, test their skills, and grow creatively. Here at Churchill Junior High, we aim to give students as many opportunities to challenge themselves and learn with their peers. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we are in candidacy to be one of the few junior high schools in Utah to offer the Middle Years Program!

What is International Baccalaureate® (IB)?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a global leader in international education. The IB program empowers school-aged students to take ownership in their own learning and help them develop future-ready skills to make a difference and thrive in a world that changes fast. For over 50 years, the IB program has provided a solid, consistent framework and the flexibility to tailor students’ education according to their culture and context.

The International Baccalaureate’s mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences can also be right.
