I was telling our PTA volunteers that there is no better job in the world than being in a junior high on the week of Halloween and spirit week. I love the costumes and the laughing and the togetherness it brings.
Spirit week has been a blast. These extra activities did impact our student time in advisory to complete reading logs and school goals, you may see this reflected in your student’s goal and reading log in the email below.
Student data:
This upcoming Friday our 7th and 8th grade English and our 6th grade advisory teachers will be meeting with all students on setting a S.M.A.R.T. goal based on last year’s RISE data. I will be sending out an email this upcoming week on how you can access your student’s RISE information. The idea is to create conversation/coaching time with your student to increase focus and success.
Coat and lunch drop off
A reminder that we have coat and lunch drop off locations for students on our second and third floor.
Our teachers also assessed items given out to students to decrease the amount needed to go to and from the class.
Charity drive
Please see the charity drive information below in support of our Skyline community. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
Lean on Utah — Medical Equipment Drive
Due to a worldwide shortage of aluminum, hospitals are in desperate need of gently used crutches, walkers, wheelchairs, and canes. The supply chain is dry, with no indications of when these items will be available again. We know that people will continue to have strokes, surgeries, accidents, and injuries, whether or not the rehab equipment is available. So, let’s help!
Please check with your household, family, friends, and neighbors and see if you can donate any of the items listed above. Collections will happen the next three Saturdays: Oct 30, Nov 6, and Nov 13, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray. If you’d like your items to be picked up from your home, please contact Sarah Plummer (sarahplumm@gmail.com).
