In addition to the duties below for each office, the SBO advisor may also assign additional duties as needed. All officers will share in lunchtime activities, selling items in the popcorn room, and morning announcements.
Governor
- Conduct all assemblies and preside over all student body activities and functions.
- Make an agenda for each SBO class and conduct the class. Read and update “Projects in Process” chart and make sure everyone stays on task.
- Put together a leadership conference prior to the start of the school year.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
- Snack Shack coverage.
Lieutenant Governor
- Acts as an aide to the Governor and perform the duties of the Governor in their absence.
- Handle all spirit activities, lunchtime activities, school fundraisers, school t-shirt and sweatshirt orders.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
- Snack Shack coverage.
Attorney General
- Coordinates elections for class and student body office.
- Create and keep an updated inventory of snack/drink items in the Snack Shack. Submit an order in writing to Shawna Cluff in the office of snack/drink items that need to be purchased.
- Create a monthly schedule of dates the Snack Shack will be open and which officers have been assigned. Remind officers at the beginning of each week of who is in charge and on what day.
- Make posters of items for sale in the Snack Shack.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
- Snack Shack coverage.
Secretary
- Keep minutes of all meetings.
- Prepare a monthly calendar of school activities and coordinate weekly assignments.
- Update the weekly calendar in the display case in the lunchroom hall. Information can be found in the online calendar on the Churchill Jr. High web page.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
- Snack Shack coverage.
Historian
- Must have access to a 33mm camera, know how to use it, and know how to edit film.
- Record historical events during the school year by taking pictures of events for the end of year assembly.
- Must attend or assign someone to attend all Churchill events to take pictures. This includes but is not limited to, sporting events, school dances, instrumental music performances, ballroom and dance company performances, talent show, etc.
- Create a poster for each sporting event that highlights the team and players.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.

Commissioner of Technology
- Coordinate with Ms. Brimley and read the morning announcements each morning Monday-Thursday on the All Call.
- Coordinate video announcements every Thursday after school to show on Friday morning.
- Coordinate with Ms. Baguley on items needed for assemblies (microphones, lights, projector). Ms. Baguley will have a form for you to complete. Make sure you have everything ready to go the day BEFORE the assembly.
- Filming the end of year video for the C.O.W. assembly.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
- Snack Shack coverage.
Commissioner of Activities:
- Schedule and plan two dances per year. Usually one in the fall and one in the spring.
- In charge of communication between student body officers and class officers.
- Advertising of any activities.
- Writing thank-you letters/notes as needed.
- Team Locker signs.
- Holiday Grams and Valentine Grams.
- Schedule and plan pep rallies to recognize teams.
- Set up and clean-up of all school dances, Churchill on Parade, and the end of year COW assembly.
