Course selection is an important part of staying on track for graduation and planning for life after high school. Students should choose classes that meet graduation requirements, support college and career goals, and help them explore their interests.

Before choosing classes, students should review their graduation progress in Focus under the GRAD tab. This will help students see:
- Credits already earned
- Credits still needed
- Required classes for graduation
- Failed or missing credits
- Classes needed for future goals
Course Selection Steps
- Check your graduation progress in Focus.
- Review the required classes for your grade level.
- Choose electives that connect to your interests and goals.
- Select alternate electives in case your first choices are not available.
- Review your choices with a parent or guardian.
- Ask your counselor questions before submitting your course requests.

Important Reminders
Course requests are not guaranteed schedules. Final schedules depend on graduation requirements, course availability, class sizes, and the school’s master schedule.
Students who are missing credit may need Credit Recovery.
Students who want to improve a previous grade may ask their counselor about Grade Replacement through Granite Online during the school year.
Students interested in AP, Concurrent Enrollment, Honors, CTE, or pathway courses should review those options carefully and talk with their counselor if they have questions.
